Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A revitalized the Russian player claimed his maiden trophy for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has endured a torrid year, managing just one win at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in particular - caused him exiting of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.
This marks the player's initial trophy after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface after March of 2023.
The win also means the Russian has achieved 21 championships at 21 distinct events.
"It's the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters at once, so to get a championship is really nice," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my child her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive approach and regular reactions on court had caused observers to doubt if his skill to compete at the top level was over.
But the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and compete assertively, supported by an improved serving game.
Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the last five games to take the lead.
The pair traded break points in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his initial ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to create a decider.
The opponent saved four early-game chances in a close third set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned the win with a point at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
