The star has handed over the complete sum of his £25,000 Mercury Prize prize money to the MVT, which operates to preserve the UK's independent music venues.
He was given the award on October 16 as his third album the album was declared the best record of the previous year.
The musician has decided to donate the funds to the MVT, in appreciation of the essential function small stages played in his early career.
"I couldn't be pursuing my current career if it hadn't been for all the gigs I performed around the region, and elsewhere, when I was starting out," remarked Fender. "These locations are legendary, but they are facing challenges."
Since the start of 2023, over 150 of these locations have permanently closed – about 16 percent of the whole industry in the UK.
Over the past year, well-known musicians such as Pulp, Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the trust in its attempts to keep the scene afloat, by applying a modest fee to their ticket prices, which benefits smaller concert halls.
Sam Fender also joined in, generating more than £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to support numerous small stages across England, Scotland, and Wales.
The donation supported spaces that were dealing with imminent closure due to difficulties stemming from floods, fire incidents and bereavements, as well as licensing issues, conflicts and sound issues.
Additional spaces were granted funding support in improving amenities and technical equipment that positively impacted artists and fans.
"The notion that funds from shows in big venues backs the local stages, where it kicks off for musicians like me, is just common sense," Sam Fender has said.
The musician is far from the only musician to donate his award winnings to charitable organizations.
In they earned the trophy in the year 1996 for their release their work, vocalist the singer declared that the band would give their prize money to the organization the charity.
That year, musician Ms Dynamite divided her award across a few good causes, including the children's charity and a charity for Sickle Cell.
"I also donated a thousand pounds to my local community centre, to their gymnastics class, because I trained in gymnastics when I was younger and they needed updated gear," the artist told a publication.
In recent years, the band contributed their funds to the youth organization that supported their band, alongside other independent music bodies.
And the 1994 recipients M People donated their award to a charity for MS after a close contact was found to have the disease.
"Receiving the award was quite enough," stated vocalist the singer. "The prize was the extra but we didn't require the cherry, because we had the main prize. So our victory affected somebody else's life."
Recently, the trust shared it had protected two grassroots venues in that region, by bringing them into local control.
One venue in Southampton and the second in the city were bought under the public acquisition initiative, which is funded by a national body and supporters who acquire "ownership units" in the venues.
